How to Grow a Beard

The Science Of Growing A Legendary Beard

BEARD OIL LOCKING YOUR BEARD FOR MAXIMUM THICKNESS

A new beard thickening discovery was recently discovered and pioneered in the LEGENDS BEARD LAB.  We’ve named the process “oil-locking” and it’s the process by which our proprietary hydrolate is drawn into the hair shaft at a maximum level based on matching pH, and then gets “locked-in” by an application of a specific beard oil formula (POSEIDON) at the same pH. This proprietary hydrolate becomes suspended inside the oil barrier with nowhere to go, except to be absorbed deeper into the hair shaft…effectively increasing hair volume from 30% – 45%, length by up to 3% and diameter by as much as 20%.

The “oil-locking” protocol is also repeatable and increasingly effective through multiple applications per day, specifically three. For most of our clients however, two cycles per day will suffice, as busy lives and schedules ultimately take precedence.

WHY OIL-LOCKING WORKS AT INCREASING BEARD THICKNESS

The most basic way to understand it, is that water and oil do not mix, as we all know. But considering that beard hair shafts are a cortex made up of a protein called Keratin, a protein whose innermost structure is helical and androphobic for strength (water impermeable), but whose outermost structure is hydrophilic (water permeable), we know the conditions are right for hydrolate absorption on the hair shaft.

Once this occurs, an oil application to the beard creates a bond to the hair shaft through surface tension, thereby “locking-in” that previously absorbed hydrolate. Now, the hydrolate is prevented from evaporating, and is drawn deeper into the hair shaft’s outercore fully hydrating it, while the outer oil barrier stays put via surface tension and because it’s oil…also resists evaporation.

Now, this whole thing could become one giant mess, if it wasn’t for the hair shaft’s ability to “use” this specific hydrolate we’ve introduced to it. With oil wrapping the outer core of the hair shaft, and liquid below it not being absorbed completely, you’d be looking at a very undesirable situation.  This is why simple water is a poor solution for hydrating hair, it’s just simply too inefficient and slow to fully absorb.

Then there’s the issue of pollutants and toxins permeating the hair shaft (which we certainly don’t want) and other particulate in the water that prevent it from full penetration. So for this protocol to work, you need a perfectly developed pure hydrolate with a precise pH to actually bring it all together.

SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF EXTRA WORK – IS IT REALLY WORTH THE EFFORT?

Well, that depends. If you are one that isn’t concerned about maximizing your investments, regardless of what they are, then yes…it’s some extra work. I’m not one to leave money on the table when it’s free to pick up and walk away with, but you might be. So, this is really a question of personal choice, which all of us are free to make. I can’t make that choice for you.

You came here because you’re searching for ways to grow a thicker beard and we’re here to deliver these ways backed by science and the hard work of our Legendary beard growing chemists.  Choose wisely my friends!
